Rusco Foundation

It is with great honor and humility that I share the story behind the establishment of Rescue and Support Consortium Foundation (RUSCO Foundation). The idea traces its roots back to the early 2000s in Kigoma Region, under the leadership of Rev. Bishop Paul Ruzoka of Kigoma Diocese, where pastoral, social, humanitarian, and educational support services were provided to vulnerable communities.

During that period, the Coordinator of the Diocesan Pastoral and Social Refugee Services was the late Fr. Laurent Bazeduka. Under his coordination, the current Chief Executive Director of RUSCO Foundation served as the Secretary of the organization and a committed volunteer. This role provided practical experience in humanitarian service, office coordination, community support, social welfare, and service to vulnerable people.

Through this responsibility, the current Chief Executive Director developed a strong spirit of compassion, sacrifice, accountability, and commitment to helping people during difficult and painful situations. The experience strengthened the belief that vulnerable people require more than temporary assistance; they need opportunities, dignity, protection, inclusion, and pathways toward sustainable independence.

Over time, this service revealed that many individuals and families face serious economic and social challenges after accidents or as a result of living with disabilities. Many lose income, employment opportunities, independence, access to essential services, and the ability to participate fully in community and economic life.

In 2025, this long-standing vision became a reality through the establishment of Rescue and Support Consortium Foundation (RUSCO Foundation), with a mission centered on promoting economic resilience for accident and disability victims. RUSCO Foundation seeks to strengthen livelihoods, promote disability inclusion, support accident survivors, improve access to social protection, build skills, encourage entrepreneurship, and connect vulnerable people with sustainable opportunities.

As Chief Executive Director, I warmly invite donors, government institutions, development partners, private sector actors, faith-based organizations, civil society organizations, and well-wishers to join hands with us. Together, we can promote dignity, inclusion, independence, economic opportunity, and resilience for accident and disability victims.
